Overview

In the Department of Transnational Studies students can pursue a number of interdisciplinary graduate degree programs. At the Ph.D. level, degrees are offered in both American Studies and Global Gender Studies. At the M.A. level, students can choose from American Studies, Global Gender Studies, Humanities Interdisciplinary M.A. – Concentration in Caribbean Cultural Studies, as well as a certificate in Canadian Studies. At present the Department has over a 100 enrolled students, including students from over fifteen different countries. Currently, there are 21 faculty members with diverse interests ranging across the humanities and social sciences and geographical specialization in North America, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Africa. The interdisciplinary and global focus of the Department of Transnational Studies is unique in the College of Arts and Sciences.
